This is a technical preview
macOS Developer ID notarisation and Windows Authenticode are not done yet, so it is not called stable. Each platform enters stable on its own once signing, notarisation and native verification are complete.
Because it is unsigned, macOS blocks the first launch. The first-launch guide explains what allowing it grants, and why a signed build removes the need for it.
BootAgent will never ask you to disable Gatekeeper, run spctl --master-disable, or lower your system-wide security settings. That flow covers this one app and every step is yours to confirm.
